The hiking trail parallels the Quebrada La Mina. This lovely creek meanders through the reserve and eventually merges with the Río Caldera. During the hike, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a small cave and search for tropical birds. In fact, there are over 220 bird species native to this area, including the resplendent quetzal—some hikers may be fortunate enough to spot this exotic bird.

You will eventually make your way to the waterfalls. Here you will enjoy a light snack and have the opportunity to take photos or shower beneath the falls. A quick dip beneath the water is a great way to cool off before the return hike.

Participants of every skill level are invited on this tour, although they should be in good physical condition—some sections of the trail are strenuous and can be slippery during the rainy season. Guides lead guests at a comfortable pace.

This tour has a two-person minimum. It begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends around 1:00 p.m.
